Northwestern Calgary is an action-packed and active region of Calgary, which often causes drivers to face difficulty in navigating a division of Stoney Trail—an intersection of Sarcee Trail. The authorities of Northwestern Calgary planned to upgrade the design of the intersection after noticing that a large number of vehicles were using a ramp to reach Stoney. The ramp was constructed to manage the operation of passenger vehicles on the roads, so a loop was further incorporated into the project blueprint to alleviate the chaos of the heavy traffic on the roads.

According to the planned design, the crew widened 112 Avenue N.W. between 69 Street and Sarcee Trail to provide additional assistance to the drivers by increasing the accommodation of the roads network for them.

The project aims to expedite traffic flow with reduced delays and to reduce congestion in the targeted area of Calgary. It has also upgraded safety measurements on the roads to minimize dangerous accidents. In addition to that, the project aims to boost the neighboring economy by creating numerous job opportunities for fellow Calgarians, which would entail them constructing infrastructure elements for the city.

The total cost of the project is estimated at $1.6M, and it is bound to facilitate the operation of vehicles on the roads of Northern Calgary. The project has successfully reached its completion, and due to the recent modifications, the speed limit is reduced to 50 km/h.
